We are currently seeking an experienced Truck Mechanic to work in Sterling, VA region.

Description:
The primary responsibility of this position is to perform maintenance and repair of various types of mobile equipment in the company shop or on public roadways, as necessary and maximize equipment availability through the use of efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programs.


Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repair of Diesel Trucks, Loaders, and other heavy equipment
Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, computer diagnostics and basic welding
Analyze blueprints, drawings, work orders and diagrams in order to troubleshoot, repair and install equipment
Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI); troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components on vehicles and equipment; ensure accurate diagnosis and effective repair and/or replacement of components
Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts
Conduct safety checks on vehicles
Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
Identify multiple projects and prioritize work to maximize truck utilization and plant productivity
Communicate clearly and effectively at various levels to obtain and provide information needed to accomplish goals


Education/Experience:
1-2 years related experience and/or training in automotive or commercial vehicle repair
Proficiency in diagnosing and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, and computer diagnostics
Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and repair, certification preferred
Strong mechanical skills and the ability to problem solve
E7 or MP7 engine experience preferred
CDL preferred or ability to obtain a CDL license
Dedication to maintain the highest standard of safety in all aspects of the job
Must provide own tools
High school diploma or equivalent
