CTR Group is seeking an Aluminum Structural Welder local to the Norfolk, VA area. Immediate openings and urgently hiring!

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a shipyard.
- Proficient with Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch and Air Carbon Arc Gouging.
- Experience working in demanding physical environments (e.g., shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, staging).
- Work involves lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more, standing for long periods, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations relevant to the shipbuilding industry.
- Know the different wire and gas combinations.
- Quality of weld should be acceptable for N.D.T.
- Should be proficient in using GMAW.
- Fillet & Groove Welding-Able to pass XRay.
- Should be able to read weld gauges.
- Should be able to use hand tools.
All welders must pass all-position, multi-pass butt weld qualification tests before the first day of productive work. Tests are based on MIL-STD-248D Paragraph 5.3.3 and include:
Horizontal (2G), Vertical (3G), and Overhead (4G) positions for:
- SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
- FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding)
- GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)
- GMAW-P (Pulse Arc Welding)
- Air Carbon Arc Gouging proficiency test
- Should have knowledge of welding Aluminum
