CTR Group is seeking an Area Manager - Ship Repair tor a Shipyard in the San Diego, CA, area. Immediate openings and urgently hiring!
Pay Range: $70K - $80K plus Excellent Benefits
SUMMARY:
The Area Manager is the Company's management representative responsible for the successful execution of a ship repair work package. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Working knowledge of US Navy/MSC/Commercial Ships and their systems is required.
- In-depth knowledge of ship repair and operation with clear understanding of all types and phases of work.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manual references, and work specifications.
- Full working knowledge of procedures and practices.
- Able to motivate and provide objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines and general policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Fully understands the scope of work and asks questions when in doubt.
- Proficient with applicable SQMS Departmental Work Instructions and Procedures.
- Position requires general familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools to ensure compliance with proper safety precautions and optimum performance of tasking.
- Proficient in the use of PCs and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, desktop applications, and electronic mail programs.
- US Citizenship is required.
- The ability to acquire a DBIDS credential is required
