Position Overview:
As the Assistant Manager (Back of House), you will support and enhance kitchen operations, focusing on consistency, quality, team training, and overall guest satisfaction. This role includes overseeing the kitchen staff, ensuring food plating and quality standards, maintaining a clean and efficient workspace, and contributing to front of house activities when needed. You will also take on a specific area of focus (scheduling, retail shop coordination, event bookings, etc.) to help drive the business forward.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage back of house staff, coordinate and oversee kitchen operations
- Supervise food preparation, cooking, plating, and ensure quality standards
- Assist on the line and with food prep as needed
- Check food plating, temperature, and presentation accuracy
- Train kitchen staff on prep and plating techniques
- Ensure proper storage of food products and maintain sanitation and safety standards
- Support front of house team members with seating, register, and phone calls as needed
- Take on a designated area of focus (e.g., scheduling, retail shop coordination, event bookings)
- Engage team members and guests with energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a restaurant environment
- Ability to read and interpret food preparation instructions, plating guidelines, and safety regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for staff training and guest interaction
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Willingness to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasons
- High School Diploma or GED required
- U.S. Citizenship required
