Pay:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop sketches
- Set up and operate CNC machines to perform machining tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, and related operations
- Use conventional machine shop equipment to cut, machine, and shape raw materials according to drawing requirements
- Build fixtures and holding devices to support workpieces during machining
- Analyze job requirements and apply best machining practices to meet specifications efficiently
- Inspect high‑precision parts using blueprints and GD&T tolerances
- Monitor multiple machines during operation and make necessary adjustments to tool offsets, G‑code, and M‑code to maintain part accuracy
- Apply correct feeds and speeds to achieve dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements across various materials
- Determine required tooling and perform proper tool setup
- Check tool runout to ensure accurate cutting performance
- Understand tool wear, compensation techniques, and methods to minimize wear
- Set tool offsets and diameter compensation
- Set multiple 3‑axis work offsets within a single program
- Perform machine setups with minimal instruction
- Edit G‑code and M‑code at the controller and on a PC using .TXT files
- Operate a forklift as needed
- Assemble machined or fabricated components as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in performing machine setups with minimal instruction
- Strong understanding of measuring instruments, including: tape measure, calipers, OD/ID micrometers, depth micrometers, bore gauges, surface gauges, height gauges, gauge pins, gauge blocks, pitch micrometers, blade micrometers, thickness gauges, and radius gauges
- Ability to properly square material
- Skilled in the use of hand tools to achieve required finishes
- Ability to safely and effectively use power‑driven equipment
- Understanding of tool deflection and methods to control it across different materials
- Knowledge of part flatness requirements and techniques to achieve flatness
- Proficient in proofreading G‑code and M‑code to prevent errors and ensure accurate program output
- Ability to perform test runs and verify program accuracy
