RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:
- Installation: Set up electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, communication, and navigation equipment.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal functionality and safety of electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions using tools like voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ammeters.
- Upgrades: Assist in the design and installation of new electrical systems or upgrades to existing ones.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to maritime safety standards and environmental regulations during all tasks.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and installations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, deck officers, and other marine professionals to ensure the vessel's overall functionality.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Expertise in marine electrical systems, including low-voltage controls, motor starters, and fiber optics.
- Familiarity with tools like crimping devices, pliers, and testing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in challenging environments, such as confined spaces or offshore platforms.
