Job Duties:
The Engineering Technician I is an entry level position that works with Engineers, Technicians, and field personnel in support of engineering tests and R&D projects on mining products. This job description reflects management s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Absent undue hardship reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Essential Job Duties:
Works with Engineers and Technicians performing tests on mining products, equipment, or systems.
Works with Technicians to read and interpret sketches, engineering drawings, schematics, or verbal instructions to complete required tasks.
Works with Technicians to fabricate, assemble, or reconfigure test fixtures.
Works as a team member with other Engineers, Technicians, and field personnel on tests or R&D projects.
Participates in Engineering Development Program.
Works with Technicians to modify, build, or install prototype truck components in the test lab or in the field.
Works with Technicians to install sensors or data acquisition equipment required for engineering tests in the test lab or in the field.
Works with Technicians to build or repair electrical control wires used for new or existing test equipment.
Works with Technicians to keep work areas clean and orderly.
Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to operate and maintain power and hand tools.
Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
Ability to handle and dispose of hazardous wastes such as oil, antifreeze, parts cleaner solvent, or similar material.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to use MS Office.
