CTR Group is seeking Insulators for a Shipyard in Norfolk, VA

SUMMARY:
Insulator will remove, repair, and install various types of insulation; including fiberglass, calcium silicate, and rubatex from piping systems, ventilation systems, and various components and structures.
- Insulation workers use various methods to install the insulation, from taping, stapling it in to using wire banding to hold it around a piece of equipment.
- Fill blower hopper with insulating materials.
- To blow material into a space, the worker may be using materials such as cellulose or fiberglass.
- They may also utilize a foam like material for the same purpose.
- They utilize a number of tools, which include saws, staple guns, pliers, knives, brushes, trowels and power equipment.
- Prepare surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas ships, sealant, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.
- Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces.
- Select appropriate insulation, based on the heat retaining or excluding characteristics of the material.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.
- First Class: 5 years of experience and able to perform majority of the task above while working in an independent capacity.
- Second Class: 3 to 4 years of experience and with moderate supervision be able to perform some of the task above.
- Third Class: 1 to 2 years of experience and with a lot of supervision will perform a few of the task.
