Position Overview:
The Material Handler is responsible for efficiently and accurately handling materials to support production, inventory management, and shipping/receiving functions. This role ensures proper documentation, storage, and organization of materials, as well as timely delivery to internal departments.
Job Duties:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against packing lists and purchase orders
- Organize and store materials in designated areas with correct labeling and documentation
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for internal production teams and external shipments
- Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with inventory adjustments to maintain accurate records
- Utilize inventory management systems (ERP/WMS) to record transactions and track materials
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, production teams, and related departments to ensure timely and accurate material delivery
- Follow established safety, quality, and handling procedures at all times
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documentation such as packing lists and purchase orders
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with ERP/WMS systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic math skills for counting and verifying inventory
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs., as well as work in varying environmental conditions
