CTR Group is seeking a Finance Officer for a Non-Profit Organization in the Newport News, VA, area. Immediate opening and urgently hiring.
A Part-Time position 15 - 20 hours per week but may vary.
Pay Range: $21 per Hour
SUMMARY:
- Performs accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entry functions for the Organization's management.
- Identifies 1099 vendors and gathers the required information for issuance of a 1099 at the end of the year
- Reviews and records receipt of annual audits, and salary and benefits information
- Answers finance related questions
- Attends staff meeting
Semi-monthly
- Prepares payroll for Organization's employees
- Files state and federal payroll tax returns
Quarterly
- Prepares 941s and VA-6 reports with government entities
Semi-Annually
- Processes and distributes contribution statements
- Processes scholarship awards as dictated by the Board
Annually
- Prepares and Issues W-2s and 1099s and files W-3 and 1096 with government entities
- Completes the worker’s compensation audit form
On-Going
- Responds to requests for comparative salary requests
- Keeps abreast of accounting rule changes
- Processes Composite Fund deposits and withdrawals
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or 10 years of accrual accounting experience
- Communication and attention to detail skills
- Confidentiality with personnel, financial records, and personal matters
- Microsoft Suite
