CTR Group is seeking Outside Machinists with Active Secret Clearance for a Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.
SKILLS:
Outside Machinist, Machinery Repair & Maintenance, Inspecting, Troubleshooting, Machinery Overhaul, Drawings & Blueprints, Submarine Experience, Precision Tools, Measurement Instruments, Calibration, Alignment, DoD Clearance.
Maintenance and repair of machinery. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, troubleshooting, and performing necessary repairs to ensure the efficient operation of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect machinery to identify defects and malfunctions
Perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on various types of machinery, including but not limited to engines, pumps, and propulsion systems
Utilize precision tools and instruments for measurement, calibration, and alignment
Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Collaborate with team members to optimize machinery performance
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completed apprenticeship program or relevant technical training
Proven experience as an Outside Machinist in an industrial setting
Must have submarine experience. Share relevant experience in VLS, Weapons Systems, Fairwater Planes, and Sail.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
Stamina and physical strength for prolonged periods of standing and manual labor
Flexibility to work in various environmental conditions
