CTR Group is seeking a SENIOR QUALITY TECHICIAN for an Aerospace Company in the Newport News, VA, area. Immediate opening and urgently hiring!
A Contract Position for about 6 Months.
Pay Rate: Open to discussing.
SUMMARY:
The Sr. Quality Technician tests and inspects aerospace and marine prototype hardware and assemblies, at various stages of the production process.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate data and write inspection reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards and document other critical characteristics, processes and materials.
- Inspect complex contoured surfaces using multi-axis coordinate measuring machine and associated computer software; accurately measures with hand-held precision measuring tools.
- Program, set-up and verify inspection programs for multi-axis coordinate measuring machine.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with engineering staff to determine quality tolerance, specifications and reliability standards.
- Deliberate with engineering staff to determine quality tolerance, specifications and reliability standards. Come up with mitigation strategies for failed components.
Preferred Education / Experience:
- Associates Degree
- 5+ years of related discipline; OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to above.
Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
- Proficient with Verisurf, or similar inspection CMM programming system
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints/engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and Quality Control procedure manuals
- Proficient using manual hand tool inspection equipment
- Valid drivers’ license with a clean driving record is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
- Detailed knowledge of DOD-STD-100C and ANSI Y14.5M requirements
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
