Job location: Tampa, FL
Pay: $37 PLUS per diem
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Ensure that all job assignments are performed as directed by management and by the customer
- Follow all A.B.S. and other regulatory requirements to repair commercial ships, tugs and barges
- Plan jobs by scheduling work assignment of personnel, provision of tools, materials and equipment to maintain an even flow of production on projects
- Attend management, planning, safety and all other scheduled meetings
- Discussing at least on a daily basis or as often as required, your project status with assigned Foreman and Leadman
- Meet with Foreman and/or Lead man daily, to establish labor and equipment assignments and requirements to make sure all materials required for their portion of the work are either on hand or on order
- Coordinate with other Superintendents for equipment and labor requirements as well as material requirements to avoid duplication or conflict with other ongoing jobs
- Exhibit confidence and respect for fellow supervisors, especially in the presence of subordinates and customers
- Meet the goals of your assigned project and maintain a great attitude
- Ensure subcontractors performance, quality and safety is at the highest level
- Prepare and review timesheets and other job charges to ensure that all costs associated with the job and customer is accurate and representative of the scope of the job requirements
- Responsible for properly completing all tasks related to the contract
- Must be totally aware of the nature of the contract and the customer’s requirements
- Must be willing to be assigned to work areas outside of his specific skillset as deemed necessary by immediate supervisor and preform these duties to the best of their ability
- Responsible for all operations concerning the assigned project and the coordination with other crafts and supervisors

- The employee is regularly exposed to extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid conditions
- The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals

- Must be able to work in confined spaces in the performance of regular job duties
- To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential skill satisfactory
- The employee is frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in the performance of essential duties and responsibilities of this job
- The employee may be required to climb or balance above a height of 5 feet in the performance of essential duties and responsibilities of this job
- The employee should test in the acceptable range for vision, hearing, and respiratory functions

- 8 to 10 years of experience in the shipbuilding, ship repair, or similar industry
- 3 to 5 years management or supervisory experience
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds on a consistent daily basis
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb aboard ships
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work above ground at heights of a minimum 50 feet aloft and/or working from scaffolding and/or man lifts while working with machinery
- Ability to withstand extreme heat in outside climate or confined spaces
- Physical and medically qualified to wear all required personal protective equipment as prescribed under OSHA standards
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 2 hours while conducting regular work duties
- Ability to respond to voice commands and audile alarms
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to understand and solve math at a 10th grade level or above
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before small groups of customers and employees of the organization
- Must have thorough knowledge of planning and scheduling of tasks
- Ability to inspect work assignments prior to regulatory inspections and obtain sign offs
- Must comply with company, federal, state and local safety and environmental rules and regulations while performing daily job tasks
