CTR Group is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer - SolidWorks for an Aerospace Company in the Newport News, VA area.
SUMMARY:
Seeking a Designer with 3D Design and SolidWorks expertise to develop 3D solid models of mechanical components and assemblies
- Provide CAD models at various stages of the design development
- Create 3D surface models according to aerodynamic profiles
- Work closely with Engineering to refine design and solve problems
- Interact with the Fabrication staff to ensure manufacturability
- Interact with Programming staff to ensure content of solid model
- Select standard components for use in the design
- Perform material selection and sizing of components
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree and 3 + years of related experience (aerospace, automotive, or other 3D surfacing experience), or equivalent combination
- SolidWorks proficiency required
Solid modeling experience - Understanding of GD&T
- US citizenship required
