Position Overview:
The Warehouse Technician ensures efficient, accurate, and safe warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials. This role supports internal production teams as well as external customers, while maintaining accurate inventory records and adhering to safety standards.
Job Duties:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for internal production and external customers
- Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes) to move and organize inventory
- Store materials in designated areas, maintaining proper labeling and organization
- Conduct cycle counts and periodic physical inventories, reconciling discrepancies
- Utilize inventory management systems (ERP/WMS) for transaction recording and order tracking
- Follow proper handling, storage, and safety procedures at all times
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and related departments to ensure timely delivery and accurate material specifications
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous warehouse, logistics, or materials handling experience preferred, especially in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret documentation such as packing lists and purchase orders
- Familiarity with basic computer applications and inventory management software (ERP/WMS)
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment; certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic math skills for counting and verifying inventory
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. as well as work in varying environmental conditions
