Position Overview:
The Welder is responsible for fabricating fetal monitor belts using a sonic welder and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify the air pressure of the sonic welder before operation.
- Weld Velcro strips securely to fetal monitor belts.
- Ensure a complete seal of Velcro to the belts through quality inspection.
- Accurately roll and package fetal monitor belts.
- Maintain accountability for the accuracy and quantity of products handled.
- Strive to increase production levels in a cost-efficient manner.
- Actively contribute to team goals with a positive attitude.
- Accurately record time and attendance using provided codes.
- Meet productivity standards by working efficiently and completing tasks promptly.
- Observe safety and security procedures, and report any unsafe conditions.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Respond promptly to all internal and external inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
- Follow written work instructions and procedures as directed.
- Perform additional duties, including special projects, as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Manager.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Meet productivity standards by working quickly and completing work in a timely manner.
- Observe safety and security protocols, and report unsafe conditions promptly.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
- Effective communication skills for one-on-one interactions and team participation.
Physical Requirements:
- Perform fine motor tasks such as picking, pinching, and pressing primarily with fingers.
- Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Ability to closely inspect small defects and perform detailed assembly or fabrication work.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a warehouse/production environment.
